Friends' Park

This approximately 9-acre neighborhood park is located in south Newberg, at the end of Corinne Dr. and Kennedy Dr., near Friends' Cemetery and the airport. Local neighborhood residents long sought and supported the development of a neighborhood park in this location, and participated in public meetings,  committee and subcommittee to help plan the development of the park and select playground equipment. Park amenities include a paved trail, playground, basketball court, and a large, flat, open space.

Ewing Young Park Trails

Get that out-of-town feeling on bout one mile of easy-to-moderate sloping, wooded, loop trail created by CPRD, including a substantial footbridge, with trail sections along Chehalem Creek. These trails wind around the perimeter of Ewing Young Park and cross the disc golf course. From the parking lots, look for the trailhead signs beneath the BMX announcer box and to the right of the caretaker's house.

Crabtree Park Trail

.19 miles (short but sweet) - This secluded, idyllic park in Dundee features a trail alongside the hill which runs across the back of the park. Note that while this is a peaceful setting, you may hear gunshots; a private gun club is adjacent to the park (not affiliated with CPRD).

Schaad Park Loop Trail

Schaad Park Loop Trail (.94 miles) -  Looking for a short but rewarding hike for a great view of Newberg on a clear day? In less than a mile, the Schaad Park Loop Trail ascends a steep, grassy hillside via gradual switchbacks, leading you to a bench to sit and take in one of the best elevated vistas in town, overlooking the hospital, golf course, PCC, and beyond. The trail then levels out and meanders through a patch of woods to a gravel parking lot facing Corral Creek Rd. Doable over a lunch hour.

Central Newberg Urban Trails

Urban trails are routes connecting a town's cultural attractions through streets and sidewalks. Central Newberg Urban Trails wind through downtown and surrounding residential Newberg. The trailhead is located at Herbert Hoover Park, but jump in at any Chehalem Heritage Trails sign in central Newberg and follow the arrows to the nearest attractions. It's a great way to take a walk with fresh eyes in familiar territory, or for visitors to explore efficiently.

Dundee Billick Park

Home of Dundee Skatepark

Dundee-Billick joined the district in 1978 at the request of the residents living in the nearby neighborhood.

Not only did they suggest the park, they helped plan it.

The Billick family, led by Jack Billick, and Dundee City Hall, joined together to donate the property on which the park is located.

Schaad Park

  • The longest slide in Oregon! Stainless steel 30'
  • Schaad Park Loop Trail zig zags nearly a mile up a steep hill to an outstanding view.

Walter Robert Schaad bequeathed this parcel of land and funds to develop this park in commemoration of the Schaad family. Schaad Park was officially dedicated on May 16, 2013.
