Don Loving named Honorary Board Member for Life

2024 Board of Directors award Don Loving

At the CPRD Board of Directors meeting on June 27, 2024, the Board passed a resolution honoring longtime former Board member Don Loving by naming him an Honorary Board Member for Life. This distinction has been only awarded to a small number of longtime Board members over the 50+ years of the District.  The Board took a moment to recognize Don, sign and frame the resolution, and present it to him during that meeting.

Don served on the Board for 32 consecutive years, beginning with his election in 1991. A Forest Grove native, Don's long history with CPRD includes coaching youth sports and participating in basketball and softball leagues. Don was also a driving force behind the creation and development of Chehalem Glenn Golf Course.

Don graduated from University of Oregon with a B.S. in journalism. He was a visible and enthusiastic Ducks fan, and decorated a CPRD golf cart on a Ducks theme each year to ride in the Newberg Old Fashioned Festival Grand Parade.

Don has also served as an elected member of the Deacon Board and treasurer of Family Life Church in Newberg.

Don and Anna Loving married in 1984 and have two adult children, Michael and Elizabeth.

Note: Honorary Board members are entitled to attend meetings and participate in Board discussions, but are not eligible to vote.
