CPRD Youth Cheer

Welcome to Newberg Youth Cheer!

We are excited to share that Newberg Youth Cheer is now part of Chehalem Park and Recreation District! As we transition the program into its new home, we remain committed to offering a fun, high-energy cheer experience for athletes from kindergarten through 8th grade. Whether your child is new to cheer or has prior experience, our program will continue to build confidence, teamwork, and strong fundamental skills under the guidance of Coach Kaitlyn Russo.

What to Expect

Newberg Youth Cheer will continue to offer sideline cheer, tumbling classes, and performance opportunities for athletes of all levels. While we are still finalizing details for the upcoming season, here’s a general look at our cheer offerings:

  • Youth Sideline Cheer (K-5th) – Fall Season
Cheer at local youth football games on Saturdays with twice-weekly practices to build cheer fundamentals.
  • Junior Sideline Cheer (6th-8th) – Fall Season
Older athletes will train at a higher level while still cheering at Saturday football games.
  • Game Day Champs (3rd-8th) – Winter Season
A competition-style program featuring stunts, chants, and dance routines.
Young Athletes must participate in Fall Sideline Cheer to eligible for the winter competition season.
  • Tumbling Classes (K-8th) – Year-Round
A great way for athletes to build and refine their skills in a supportive class environment.
  • Summer Camp/Clinic – Summer Season
We are excited to offer at least one cheer camp or clinic this summer to help athletes continue to develop their skills in a fun, fast-paced setting. Details will be coming soon, so stay tuned!

Our Mission: A Path to Newberg High School Cheer

In addition to providing a great cheer experience, Newberg Youth Cheer is proud to be a feeder program for the Newberg High School Cheer Team. Our goal is to provide athletes with the foundation they need to excel at the high school level, helping them develop strong cheer fundamentals, work ethic, and team spirit as they move forward in their cheerleading journey.

Stay Tuned for Updates

We appreciate your patience as we finalize schedules, registration details, and other program elements. Our goal is to ensure a smooth transition while maintaining the spirit and traditions that have made Newberg Youth Cheer special. More details will be shared soon, so check back for updates!
